A WEP key has nothing to do with your DS system but the WEP key is the password that is needed for secured wireless modem networks when you're trying to set up the connection with other devices. Most default WEP keys can be on the router or the modem already but if the key isn't a default one then you'll have to ask whoever set up your modem or Router for the WEP key.
No you can't. You'll be better off connecting a potato to your Internet. It's easier anyway. I suggest going into a library or McDonald's and raiding their wifi and hope its WEP :P Also you can buy that wifi adapter for the ds that plugs into your computer. It's more straight forward. Costs like £5
Yes, if there is no security (password) or the security is WEP.
Yes
It needs wifi.
yes it does
The WEP key is found on the router, not the DS unit or the WII. The WEP is different all routers.
The Nintendo DS Doesnt have a WEP. Your Wireless network has a WEP key. If you talking about your MAC address for the Nintendo DS then the MAC address of the Nintendo DS can be found by going to the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Setup in the game's menu. Select "Options," then "System Information." The MAC address is displayed on the top line.
WEP key is not really much to do with animal crossing (unless i am mistaken), it is something to do with your ds wifi connection. If you have a bt homehub then look on the back of it and it will have 'WEP key:' and code of numbers and letters. type that in where it says WEP key on your ds and your ds will connect to the internet. If you don't have a homehub then im sorry i cant help you with my own knowledge. It might not work anyway if your wifi router's settings are not compatible with the ds. Hope this helped.

The 3DS uses the 'same Wi-fi', it support WPA and WEP encryption, which the DSi supported too, but the DS could only use WEP.
You can't, the DS lite cannot use WPA encryption. It can only use WEP.
A WEP key is like a lock that protects your wi-fi connection from being used by "unauthorised people". It's not just for DS games, it's part of the router. If you don't know a router's WEP key, then you aren't authorised to use it.
The Nintendo DS used WEP encryption so your router would have needed a (commonly considered to be insecure) WEP key. However since mid-2014, the online service that Nintendo DS games connected to was taken down. It is now no longer possible to go online with a Nintendo DS game.
(You must have a modem) In a wi-fi connectable game, scroll down to something like "nintendo wi-fi settings." Scan for a connection, and click yours. If your connection is protected, enter the WEP key. If you still have problems, ask nintendo.
What can detect your DS? Please be more specific. From what I gather, your saying that the Nintendo WiFi USB Connector (WiFi USB) can dtect your DS but not your DS cannot detect 'it'. WiFI USB cannot detect Nintendo DS's unless it is connected to it. So, the Nintendo DS would have to be able to detect the Wifi USB for it to be able to detect the DS. ThE AvEnGeR
Yes, if there is no security (password) or the security is WEP.
You get it automaticly in the DS
