I haven't had any problems with this code, but you will need to put the letters in backwards. Like, if you were to change your name to Tyler, you would need to put the code for y before the code for T. Then, after you put in the FFFF0156 for the r, you would need to complete the rest of the row with zeros. This should work, but it will not change the name of the owner of your pokemon. So it might look like you've traded these pokemon.

NEW PERSON: Okay, I have tested the name codes. There is one slight problem. It makes the music all weird and cracky. It's very robotic once the name has been changed. I recommend you mute your volume while using these codes.
