Off the top of my head: Fire type moves. There may be more, but I have forgotten them. The other type is Electric. However, Skarmory is also doubly weak to Ground attacks if it is holding an Iron Ball or the move Gravity is used on it.

I recommend Pikachu. It's good, but it doesn't learn moves quickly. But it is powerful. Useful against the legendary birds (Except Zaptos, but Zaptos is weak anyway because it's the first big boss.) The worst one is Machop. It is weak to ALL the bosses, as my mate went against Skarmory. He walked forward. Skarmory used peck. Oh, no! Machop fainted! I say Squirtle and Charmander I have dominated half the game!
