I run at 115.2kbps, 75%of the time it works great for heavy gaming but its a 3G modem so it is hard to keep a signal ware I live but 115kbps and up is grate for gaming even high pace first person shooter. If this is a wired connection you should be grate. (Platform: PS3 Game: TFWFC). needing at least 1mb or more of speed is BS.
Xp is okay,but to get the most out of gaming you will need to get a gaming. I am not sure about Macintosh.

This notebook is great for gaming! The Panasonic Toughbook is definitely suitable. Intel Processors are much more suited to the heavy workload that serious gaming dictates, more so than Athlon processors.
8GB RAM is more used for if you are using this notebook for gaming or heavy programs that require a lot of RAM to run. You don't necessarily need 8GB in a notebook. You should look for something around the 4GB range if you are just going to use it for Internet. Only people that do heavy gaming would need it.

I would recommend Looking at an Asus N or K series laptop, most N series should be able to handle it, and higher end K series should as well. However neither can compete with a G series and if you intend to do heavy gaming you're always better off getting a gaming laptop.
Chromebooks are not for gaming. It's for casual daily work. Although, they have the power to handle a lot of things because it has a smooth operating system but, gaming is not their cup of tea. Yes, you can download and play casual games from the play store thanks to its Android support but, heavy gaming... no way!
