Wood is an insulator and does not conduct electricity like metal does. When you rub your feet on the ground, you build up a charge, but when you touch a wooden doorknob, the charge cannot flow through the insulating wood to give you a shock.

You, try reassigning the controller. If you dont know how to, push the small button on top of the controller and do the same to the small button on front of the Xbox.

"legend says" that you can feel your hairs going up when you are aout to be hit with an electrical shock, i dont think you can ever feel the shock itself
