Tiles are a graphical term used for how the game world is rendered in Pokemon Emerald. The space your character and NPCs individually occupy is worth one tile. Tiles are commonly used in games for repeating textures such as walls and fields. In Pokemon Emerald it is best to think of tiles as jigsaw pieces that come together in different ways to make different pictures.
Tiles are what make up all of the Pokemon games. They are basically groups and groups of squares in your game where your character can walk or swim on. For example if you move forward you have moved from one tile to another. The same thing applies to when you are swimming.
Extra info:
When you are trying to complete your pokedex and trying to find feebas many people online refer that feebas are only located on a random and very miniscule group of tiles. While this is true this vocabulary may help your friend
Hope this helped! :)
