well ive bought two ps2s (one broke xD) and i got different things each time you should get a three prong port that plugs into the back of the ps2 and into the tv on the other end, and an adaptor which plugs it into the wall for power and my second ps2 came with an online setup disc for online play (never used it but i heard its pretty sweet) hope its helpful for ya P.S: with the 360 and ps3 out now, im not sure what use a rapidly progressing outdated machine will do, but one advantage a PS2 has (if this is your interest) is modding it, and getting CUSTOM Guitar Hero SONGS, at no cost ;] just my opinion

if you have a fat ps2 then you need to buy or make a slide card. if you have a slim ps2 then you can buy a flip top or you can put tape over the sensors (both require dismantling your ps2)
On the PS3 Guitar Hero it has better graphics and it has online play whereas the PS2 doesn't.
