What are floating presents on Animal Crossing?

they are free furniture! shoot them down with your slingshot and you will see a present fall to the ground. go right to the back of your town where the present fell and you will see a present sitting on the ground. pick it up. then go into your pocket, tap the pesent then tap open. if you tap the present again it will tell you what it is. once you shoot about 15 presents from the sky you will see a UFO go past. shoot this down. some bird guy will come out and tell you that you have broken his ship and he wants you to find the parts. go around your town and dig up the spaceship parts. then give them back to him. he will give you a -golden- shovel!!

sometimes you will see a bird flying past. he is the mailman! he wanders around your town for a while delivering letters. HES PRETTY KOOL!! plus sometimes if you go back to your house (go inside) he will be waiting there but he will act totally different. he will be very outgoing. if you go up to your bedroom to save he will be there. he will be next to your bed! if you walk over a loveheart will pop over his head and then the lights will turn off. make sure you have the sound up because they make some very interesting noises!! ;) im not sure what they do while the lights are off. ;) but when the lights come back on he is gone and you are all drowsy and walk really slow for a while. if you talk to a resident after this they will say something like "wow _____ (insert name here) where have you been? you've been in your house for ages!!" or they'll say "ohmygosh! ____ (insert name) what have you done to yourself. your clothes look like they've been torn off by a wild animal!" its really funny!
