What Pokemon are good against falkner in Pokemon SoulSilver?

In the first battle with Gym Leader Falkner, his Pokemon are Pidgey (Level 9) and Pidgeotto (Level 13). The best Pokemon types for this battle would be rock (Such as onix) and electric types (such as Mareep). I had three Pokemon and I only had to use two so three Pokemon should be enough if they are at least level 12, 13, 14, and above and know at least one rock or electric type move.

If you chose Chikorita as your starter Pokemon, it would be wise to either catch a Geodude or Mareep. You can also trade for an Onix (one house in Violet City) if you have a Bellsprout.

In the rematch, his Pokemon are Staraptor (Level 50), Noctowl (Level 52), Swellow (Level 52), Honchkrow (Level 54), Pelipper (Level 48), and Pidgeot (Level 56).
