Nothing bad, although in the past it used to be a problem. Fortunately, in recent years, member objects and non-member objects have "separate spaces" in the bank, so any members-only object will NOT count towards your smaller count of objects in bank. In other words, as a non-member you can only have 70 or so objects in your bank, but members-only objects are not counted against this limit. As soon as you get a membership again, you can use your members-only objects normally again.
In any case, you may want to sell some members-only objects before your membership expires, in case you need the gold coins while you don't have a membership.

You don't lose your members items. However, if your bank has more than 68 items in it you will not be able to store anything. If you unequip a member's object you cannot re equip it until you are back on a member's world, and all member's arms and armor will not give any bonuses.
Assuming you mean the 30-day Recruit-a-Friend membership bonus, yes, it stacks with any existing membership on your account. It works in the same way as applying additional membership with a bank/credit card, a pre-paid RS card, or other forms of buying a subscription for your Jagex account.
While on RuneScape PVP worlds, if you die, you only lose the items you are carrying, not those in your bank, never in RuneScape will a death directly affect your banked items.
