No, Ellis is not gay. In the DLC The Passing, He gets a crush on Zoey (a character from the first game). He says "she's an angel." and all that, proving he's not gay. And to add more evidence that Valve did NOT intend him to be gay, sometimes at the end of the DLC, Zoey says (mimicking Ellis's Keith Stories); "Did I ever tell you about the time my buddy Ellis stole a race-car from the mall and drove it over some Zombies?" The End.
