No, Reznov is not dead as this is a common misconception of the storyline. As you listen to Alex Mason talking about Reznov, you hear him flashback to Dragovitch, saying no one found a body. Also, in a hidden code throughout the game, there is a message that says, "Reznov is dead." and then continues, "or is he. No body was found. He is not who he says he is." The code is found by taking the level's number and the first letter of the code given at the beginning of the mission and getting rid of the x's in the designate (ex: XRAY) to get Reznov is dead. You can then use an alpha-numeric cypher ex: 1=a, 2=b) to get the rest. Additionally, if you check Jason Hudson's e-mail on the computer, you will see messages from a man that have many references to Reznov (ex: The first step is...). It is likely that he will either appear in another game or be featured as a Nazi Zombies character.
Victor Reznov is not real. in the videogame, he was a man who died at Vorkura. after escaping prison, he was dead. he was captured by the enemy after sacrificing himself for you. all through the game, you see him. he is a hallucination after the prison escape.
At the escape from Vorkuta, Reznov is killed, but his memory stays throughout the game.
It never says it in Black ops.
Sgt.Reznov is a charactor in world at war he is a Russian soldier lives through out the game he then appears in black ops the new call of duty game where you meet him in a Russian prison called vorkuta by the way you play as alex mason and escape the prison with reznov but he doesnt then later on in the game you see reznov and fight along side him in Vietnam only to find out around the end of the game that reznov actually died in vorkuta and the whole time you thought he was there it was just actually in masons mind. You wonder why is reznov in a Russian prison if he is a Russian soldier well he was betrayed by the Russian soldiers when they were supposed to get a germen weopon called nova 6 and escaped but was captured and sent to vorkuta.

There was probably a Viktor Reznov in the Red Army, but Viktor Reznov of the Call of Duty series is a fictional character. He only exists in a videogame.
