There are two versions of Nidoran, depending on gender: Nidoran♀ and Nidoran♂. Nidoran♀ evolves into Nidorina starting at level 16, and then Nidorina evolves into Nidoqueen using a Moon Stone. Nidoran♂ evolves into Nidorino starting at level 16, and then Nidorino evolves into Nidoking using a Moon Stone. Nidoran♀ is #29 in the National Pokedex, and Nidoran♂ is number 32. They were both introduced in the Generation I Pokemon titles (Red, Blue, and Yellow) where they could be found on Route 22 and in the Safari Zone (and additional places in Yellow). In Generation VI (X and Y), they can both be found on Route 11.
