Sheik is indeed female. However, after you beat the water temple, Princess Ruto speaks with Link, saying: "If you see Sheik tell him i said thank you". This is only because Zelda has tricked Princess Ruto into believing that she is a male through her cunning disguise.
Uhhh... Sheik is female... She's Zelda.
Sheik is disguized Zelda !!!Sheik is the alter ego of Princess Zelda, a major character in the The Legend of Zelda series. Despite Sheik's male appearance, Sheik is indeed a female in Super Smash Bros. Series (though in The Legend of Zelda series, Sheik's gender is not official). Sheik acted as Zelda's stronger form, which she would often use to help others, and even Link .(Didn't want to mess with this answer, so I'll add on.)Sheik is clearly male. Some less reliable reasons are:-Flat chest, full-grown adult. Most likely male.-Deeper voice.-Shortened hair.-Masculine eyes. In Japanese anime/manga, it IS hard to tell, but in the posters and such, its more clear.A better reasons is in Brawl, on the trophies and after transformation, you may notice a bulge in the groin area. Also, since magic is used to change between Sheik/Zelda, we might as well say its a gender change or Zelda is freaking lazy. Doubt the latter.I'm done.
Sheik is Zelda's alter ego from the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Zelda disguises herself as a shekiah named Sheik for seven years after Gannondorf takes over Hyrule. Sheik has blonde hair, a face mask, and an eye and tear design on his outfit.
Sheik is a race of people in the ZElda series, and Zelda diquises herself as one when for some reason she doesnt want to show herself
Yes, because Sheik is just Zelda in disguise.
In The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Link finds out that Zelda is Sheik, but only towards the very end of the game does Zelda reveal herself to Link.
male

No.
This is an oddly controversial topic in Zelda fandom. Most would tell you that Sheik is a female due to the fact that Sheik is stated to be the alter ego of Princess Zelda. However, many still believe that she used magic to actually give herself a sex change due to Sheik's obviously male build, and others still refuse to acknowledge the fact they are the same person at all and insist that Sheik is 100% male. When talking about Sheik, it is best to avoid discussing Sheik's gender or using any masculine or feminine pronouns to refer to Sheik at all simply because no one can seem to agree on Sheik's true nature. Due to the nature of Sheik's gender, many use "He-she-it" or simply "Sheik" to refer to he-she-it, and use the term "Sheik" to describe anyone of whose gender they are uncertain.
