No. Pokémon is actually a good game for kids. For starters, it's a strategy game that's simple enough for kids to understand. Some very strong Christians are offended by it because it contains the word evolution. However, Pokémon don't evolve in the same sense that Darwin's theory states. They level up, and when they get to a certain level, they get stronger and look different (usually bigger and stronger-looking). That's all evolution is in this game. Some say that it is too violent for kids, but it really isn't. The Pokémon are fighting each other, but the Game Shows no signs of damage to the Pokémon aside from a lowered health bar, and both the anime and the games have shown that trainers usually don't make Pokémon fight if the Pokémon don't want to. Pokémon don't die, they faint, and can be easily restored to full health at a Pokémon Center.
