The creator Notch made minecraft for all ages I know some 8 year olds LOVE minecraft and some think its hard and scary. CommonSense rated it 13+ Cause the game has no tutorial I think its 6+ If you get a 6 year old started And show them the controls I think they could like it. the monsters might be scary Good thing Notch added a Peacefull setting so If your 8 year old Doesnt like Monsters Turn it to Peacefull and they will be gone :D but you can die on Peacefull by Lava Drowning and Jumping off a building :C if you dont like dying download the God mode Mod where u cant DIE EVAAAAAAAA
