Replacing Flamethrower with Earthquake, and Flare Blitz with Solarbeam gives it a sturdier moveset and can handle a lot more types than those weak to Fire and Fighting. Flare Blitz can do damage to Infernape after hitting the opponent, so it's kind of tricky to predict that you'll be just fine after an attack and damage.
