Most people would agree that the Les Paul Controller (GH3) is the most comfortable and best working, but it's all about personal preference.
You press the keys it tells you to and strum on the notes when the note reaches the bottom of the screen. You can use the whammy bar on sustained notes (hold the button and don't hold the strum bar, just press it) for extra points. Lift the neck to activate star power (wii)
they do repair kits for this common downstrum problem with the GH4 guitars - have a look at http://www.guitarherorepair.com/repairs/strummer-repair-kit

Any controller from GH3 will work fine.
Yes. We have GH2 and GH3 (We got GH3 first) and you can use a GH3 controller - I think all of the programming is the same, just it's wireless. No worries =] x
ya u can
From my experience I like both equally The GH3 controller works great and has no complaints from me other than a sensitive strum bar The GH:WT controller works great as well but my star power is really hard to turn on also the touch pad, although sometimes useful, is very sensitive and if you somehow touch it during a song you can lose your note streak. Other than those two complaints I'd say the GH:WT controller improves on everything the GH3 controller wasn't good at. I recomend buying GH:WT with a new guitar and keeping your'e old one for second player too.
No you can't, unless the Rock Band game is actually Rock Band 2.
On GH3, GH:Aerosmith (and maybe previous games) you can use the standard controller to play.
Yes. I use my GH3 controller when I play Rock Band.
Yes. The new features on the GH:WT controller will be bypassed if you use the GH3 controller, but the game will work. There is a few achievements on the XBOX live that cannot be unlocked unless a GHWT controller is used though, same for trophies/PS3.

Yes, you can. It only works if you have a Xbox360. you can get the control to work when you plug it in right before a song. that's the only way! =]
u cannot use the gh3 guitar for ps2 for the PC
