A monster flipped face-up by a card effect, such as "Book of Taiyou" or "Stop Defense", or as a result of battle is notconsidered a Flip Summon. Only flipping a Set monster manually is considered a Flip Summon.
So if you attack a face-down Stealth Bird, it will be flipped but not Flip Summoned, so its effect will not activate.

No. Monsters are only ever flipped if they are Flip Summoned, attacked while face-down, or when a card effect specifically says they are flipped. Monsters are never considered flipped if destroyed, or tributed while face-down.

<original> sorry but the answer is no, this happened to me a while back at a tournament, they said while attacking a face-down defense monster flips the monster it dosent count as a flip summons. hope this helps <new> torrential tribute requires a monster to be summoned, which would be manually put on the field through your normal summon. or card effect like monster reborn. a monster gets 'flipped face up' when attacked which is different from a summon.

No, it can't be special summoned except by Fusion Summon, even if you summon it and it is destroyed, it can't be resummoned from the graveyard. However cards like Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon can be summoned with Monster Reborn, if you properly summon it first, and then it goes to the graveayrd.
