There are millions of words in all of the world's languages.

Not to mention that many words have multiple meanings, rather than separate words for every use.

In English, one estimate is about 250,000 words (170,000 in the Oxford Dictionary alone) and there are new words being created every day, even as some become archaic and rarely used.

It is impossible to determine the exact number of words in the world due to the vast number of languages and dialects spoken globally. The Oxford English Dictionary contains over 170,000 words in current use, but estimates suggest there are over a million words in the English language alone. When considering all languages, the total number of words is likely in the tens of millions.
