It's doubtful people get mental illness from Video Games. However, the type of game and frequency of how often a person plays is evident of whether they are mentally ill to begin with. For example: a person who plays once a week or once a month, and plays a popular game just to fit in, or a party style game such as guitar hero with friends is probably relatively normal. However a person who spends many hours a week by themselves playing an rpg or anime game that the average person has never heard of, probably has mental illness, and is also possibly a pedophile in training.
