It depends how large the capacity of the MicroSD is! E.g: An 8GB MicroSd can only store half of a 16GB one and a quarter of a 32GB one.
You cannot play DS games with the standard SD card; the SD card is too big. However, if you have a flash card (R4, SuperCard), you can store .nds games in your micro SD card. The flash card will be able to read the .nds game files and you will be able DS games.
I have just been lookin on the Nintendo website and you can play your DSiware games straight from the SD Card + you can copy DSiware game save files to your SD card. You can't however transfer your DS games to an SD card or transfer your DS game save files to your SD.
An R4 is basically a mod chip for the Nintendo DS console. You can download games from the internet and put them on your R4 card and play the games on your Nintendo DS.
It is possible to use a smart card with the Nintendo DS to play pirated games. This has been made illegal.

Well, that depends. Most memory cards are 4 GB (for about $10 on Dealextreme.com) and can hold about 60-80 moderate-sized games. For $16 though, (on Dealextreme.com) you can get an 8GB memory card which can hold about 180-200 DS games.(I recommend it). But in order to use those DS games, you have to buy an R4 ($8.00 from Dealextreme.com) to transform the data from your computer into a data form that can be read by the DS. (By the way, I have an R4, and they are AMAZING!) ---This answer is courtesy of--- MegaChunkeyMonkey
