If I'm not mistaken, it's not based on time, but steps, as in most of the game events related to that. I think it is 10000 steps.
So, to answer your question directly, how much time it takes to hatch an egg is however long it takes you to get 10000 steps built up. I recommend a bicycle because that still counts as steps and it's fast.
