It depends on your internet connection: the whole base takes 4 DVDs (4.7gigs). That's about 18.8 gigs or 18,800,000,000 bytes. On my DSL at home I can get about 600,000,000 bytes in 2 hours, so its 300,000,000 bytes per hour. 18,800,000,000 bytes / 100,000,000 bytes/hr ~ 62.5 hours or 10 hours just shy of 3 days (approximately 2 1/2 days.)
On a 56k modem that would be about 52 days.

To download WOW MOP you must have a WOW account and the expansion purchased. After that all you do is login to Battle.net, go to account page, select your account, then click install wow client on the right plane.
