Once you start playing your household go to EDIT TOWN then click on your household and you will see this icon that looks like a light bulb (its next to the trash icon) click on that and write your item name and stuff, then go to your sim 3 launcher and upload it from there and it will go on sims 3 exchange

I'm afraid you can't have more than eight sims in one household together at a time. I had this family once, when I had sims 2, and I had eight family members and I couldn't get pregnant or adopt any other babies.
