Well, in order to unlock Stephen and Diva's story (Diva is the cat he soon gets), ou have to play Alice Whitts first. Once you complete Alice's story, a notice shoud come up in the box on the top right hand corner saying that Alice's story is over and that you now play it freely and after all of that underneath it should say that you have now unlocked Stephen's story.
