You can't spam buttons like you can on the console versions. If you really want to help it though, I would reccomend not doing 4 player mode and I would also reccomend puting it on low quality and press buttons at an appropriate pace. I find the lag isn't that bad though and it can be helpful for some stages. Also, stages that are constintly moving might lag. Hope this helps:].
