If you are doing a battle on career then you must defeat your opponent before the death drain comes. If the death drain suddenly appears on the screen, then you are doomed. You will know when it will come by a meter in the middle of the screen. When the green arrow is at the top of the meter then expect the death drain to come. If you are playing online and you and the other player survive the song, the game will go on to "sudden death". Sudden death is when all the power ups are death drains and you must launch the death drain as soon as you can. DO NOT use another death drain if you get it. This will only cause the one you used to go back to the top of the other players board, giving him/her more time. Here is a tip for guitar battle: Save power ups until you get as much as you can hold (3) and on a hard part of the song launch all of them at once.
