Runescape auto-saves. When you log off, or shut the browser window down, next time you log in, you continue just where you left - whether you log into the same server, or another server. Just try not to close the browser window while in combat - you might die otherwise, because once the connection is lost, it takes a short while before the server actually logs you out.
