It works using a memory chip (usually a microSD) you simply hook the memory chip (not the r4 card) into a computer, download the appropriate files for your R4 card (the R4 Kernal) at http://www.r4ds.com/ . Then from there all files can be dragged a dropped onto the card (using your basic operating system's explorer [Things like my docs]) I recommend creating a music and games directory though, for simplicity, also, don't forget that the r4 card can hold and play movies, as long as the appropriate player and codecs are there. You just unzip the patch, and copy the music files into the root directory of the MicroSD card, then they can be played.
