i tried to play it online but before you can it trys to install a file or patch or sumthin and it wont work for some reason. any ideas where i can play online another way

I have had this problem before, Install all the patches until when you try to go on online play again there isn't anything there, log out, go on online play again but instead of putting in your username and password put in your x-fire username and password. This solved the problem for me, If that's what you do already then I can't help you sorry! I hope this works for you!
I have another way, let it load and try to log on. If it doesn't work - sign up with the same username and passwrod again, then let it install the file and try again. After doing this two or three times it worked for me.
