you have to get to the hidden lagoon in order to pass it. first you have to find the llama king's crown in the temple interior. then you go to the dark cave and use the crown to open the door there which will take you to the hidden lagoon. next just look for the floating footprints to go to the other end of the quicksand in the east river plains. finally just knock down the left pillar and you can travel in and out of the lagoon and river plains.
