Hard Way: Look deep and find it naturally.

Easy Way: Put Lava and Water together, but make sure the water flows into the lava, and the lava is not moving when it touches water, or it will make cobblestone.

Note: Lava flows slower than water! So make a 3x1 hole 1 block deep, place a nonflammable block in the middle (cheap stuff like dirt or sand. NOT WOOD OR WOOL!), put water on one side, lava on the other (using buckets), then take away the block in the middle (and the lava becomes obsidian). Then you pick it up by using a diamond pickaxe.
