If you breed a gold and silver chao, you can get * a Gold chao * a Silver chao * a Gold chao with silver highlights * Or a Silver chao with gold highlights If you didn't get any of these, somethings wrong with your gamecube/dreamcast
If you are referring to the GameCube version, you can either transfer to a Game Boy Advance with the GBA Link Cable, or export it to a memory card (it takes an entire Memory Card 56 to do this). In the DreamCast version, you can transfer the Chao to a VMU. There is a transfer station in each Chao Garden.
Sonic Advance 1, 2 and 3 (Gameboy Advance) have chao gardens which are small and not very great, but Sonic Adventure (Dreamcast), Sonic Adventure DX (GameCube), Sonic Adventure 2 (Dreamcast), Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (GameCube) all have chao gardens where you can do the most things and raise your chao the best and most effective. Sonic Adventure 2 Battle is the most convinient and shows you all you need to know about a chao, and it's a really good game to raise them in by using animals (and Chaos Drives) as a means of training them. Sonic Advance 1 and 2 can connect up to Sonic Adventure 2 Battle and Sonic Adventure DX via a Gameboy to GameCube link cable and you can exchange chao with.

To get a Tails Chao in the Dreamcast version of Sonic Adventure 2, you need to breed a Dark and a Normal Chao. Raise the Dark Chao with a character like Tails or Dr. Robotnik until it evolves into a Tails-like Chao. This process can take time and patience, but eventually, you'll have your Tails Chao!
Give all the small animals to your chao after it revives 3 times and wait until it grows up it will become the normal chaos chao.

I have Sonic Adventure DX for Gamecube, but I'm pretty sure it's the same. Pick up your chao and bring him over to the White Gameboy Advance station. After you step on the button there should be a list of options and one of them should be name. You can name your chao up to 6 characters.
This depends. 1. Dreamcast Version About 1 hour. 2. Gamecube Version 2-3 hours.
