Well, after you cook poffins and feed them, they would eat more but they can't if it says "they don't want anymore" because that means they're full. They won't be filled up straight away if you look at a Pokemon's status and see what they like eating and you give them the right one. My Meganium eats thousands of poffins which helps it win at the contests :) sorry if I wasn't much help
