You can't make an infinity lava source, but you can make something quite similar, which will get you more lava than you started with. I could have tried to explain, but I'll just show you a link to a YouTube video instead. The link is under "Sources and related links" below this answer.
Your next best bet though is every time you go to a place with lava bring all of the buckets you can and just bring them up to your house so that at least when ever you need some there just there, not unlimited but after a large time they add up

Diamonds are located near a natural lava source. Making your own lava source does not magically make diamonds appear.
Two ways.... 1. Water source block hits lava source block. 2. Place redstone on a block of dirt with water flowing right up against it but not over the redstone... then let lava flow onto the redstone.
look it up on minecraft wiki, it really depends of what light, whether it is fire, glowstone or lava.
yes you can use flint and steel or put lava under the ground
If you have a bucket, manually dig around underground until you find lava, then get reasonably close with your bucket and right click. Your bucket will fill with lava. Move back to your place, then rightclick on a block to place that lava. Be careful, as the lava you place will being flowing down. Also, lava burns close-by wooden things.
