Step 1: Go to Build mode and go to walls, and click and drag the highlighter and make the outside shape of your house. Then, when you've decided and made your outside walls, make room divider walls, or re- phased, make your room walls.
Step 2: When your done making your walls, go to the wallpaper coverings below create wall option and go through your rooms and wallpaper them, again, you click and drag the wallpaper where you want that wallpaper design to go in which room you like.
Step 3: When you are done with that, go to floors and pick out flooring for your rooms, click and drag again. If you room is slanted slightly, it will still work, it won't go through the walls into the other room on the other side, no fear here.
Step 4: Add your furniture, and lights and windows. Windows are in Build mode, and lights and furniture are in Buy mode.
Tips: If you want a second floor, go up a floor and build walls and flooring and wallpaper and add furniture.
Don't forget to wallpaper the OUTSIDE of your house, or when you go outside you house, you will get the Unfinished room moodlet on your Sim(s).
