What you are really asking and are expecting is that the information from the 1st generation will not have to be overwritten and can allow you to have a PS3 slim that works like the First generation. You can not use the same software on different models of the PS3. The software for each model is used to direct the hardware and tell it how to operate and allow the PS3 to work. The hardware is very different in these models and it would not come close to working
