Growing wheat in minecraft is a four step process. First gather seeds by destroying tall grass. Second prepare the land to farm. To prepare the land you need a hoe, dirt, and water. Using the hoe on dirt will create farmland, on which you can plant wheat. Water must be at least 4 blocks away from the crops in any direction(Including diagonals), otherwise the crops will dehydrate and die.You must also have a source of light next to them if you are farming out of direct sunlight. After you have the land ready plant your crops and wait for them to grow. If any creature steps directly on the wheat it will be destroyed, so Fencing in your crops is a good idea. After the wheat turns golden with brown tips it is ready to be harvested. Left click on the fully grown wheat to harvest it.

You have to craft a hoe, and then you click, (or in my case, tap) on some grass, and repeat that until you have as much wheat seeds as you want. Then, go someplace here you want to plant your wheat, hoe it, and click (or tap) there. Then wait a while, and wheat will grow! P.S. It will grow faster with water nearby.
You still have to harvest and feed them by hand.
You have to grow wheat seeds and once they grow you hit them with your hands and pick them up to use.

Yes, wheat does grow in Michigan.
Yes, Minecraft does have cookies. You must have cocoa beans and wheat. Cocoa beans can be obtained from a jungle on the jungle wood, or from dungeons. You can grow cocoa beans by placing them on jungle wood and waiting for them to fully develop. You can get wheat by farming, assuming you know how to do that. The crafting recipe for a cookie is one wheat on the right, one cookie in the middle, and another wheat on the left. Check the related links for a visual!
