first things first, go to power plant and ask the manager what's up, he tells you a part of the machine is missing, when you leave the polite agent will get a message and tells i to you and to a guy at the computer, go to the gym of misty where u see a team rocket, he talks bla bla bla, then go north on the bridge, you'll see him again, talk to him when he try's to hide, you battle him, then he says he dropped the machine part in the gym in one of the inner tube( hint in Heartgold its in the upper left tube) and u will find the machine part, then go to the manager and he will thank you and u get Tm charge beam, go to the radio tower in lavender town and talk to the owner, he upgrades your Pokegear so you can play Pokeflute go to Snorlax east of Vermilion City and use your Pokegear on the radio, use the scoop middle above, then pokeflute channel go on talk to snorlax (u will battle it) defeat or catch it, its' at level 50 be prepared, then go in the cave and go on the end of it go out, then go south and you'll reach pallet town (u gotta go through the forest and the city above pallet town).
Pallet town, ok you are going to have to get all 8 badges then beat the elite four. Then you can go to Kanto and then Pallet town is somewhere around there.
