How do you get the keys to all the castle doors in super Mario 64 ds?

To get the key into the castle, catch the first rabbit with Yoshi; to get the key for the basement, get 12 stars and complete 'Bowser in the Dark World'; to get the key for the top floor, collect 30 stars and complete 'Bowser in the Fire Sea'; to unlock the top floor, get 50 stars (no actual key required) and to unlock the final Bowser level, collect 70 stars. To get the key for the white room, catch the glowing rabbits when they invariably appear. To get the keys for other characters, find their portraits and complete the levels (read other questions for more details).
