There is a pretty simple route out of the cave. The directions require you to follow the naturally occurring path found in the cave. From the entry point, walk upwards. You will find a sign telling you your location. From there, take a right until you meet the wall and follow it upwards. Take another right when it stops. There is a ladder nearby, but do not use it - it does not lead to the exit.
- You should meet another wall. From there, go upwards. you will most likely meet the female trainer running around. When you see her, take a left and follow the track. Next, go down and avoid the ladder and the male trainer. When you reach the end of the track, take another left and make your way to the centre of the large area. Take the ladder you find there.
- You will find yourself in a long room. Follow it to the next ladder.
- After taking the second ladder, you will find yourself in a larger room. Take the stairs you see in the top right-hand corner of the screen down. Then take the other stairs you see up. From there, turn right, go down, go left, go down, go left, up and you will find a trainer that you have to battle to proceed.
- The trainer you battle will let you take one of the fossils blocking the path if you win. Depending on which fossil you take, you will end up with one of two ancient Pokemon. This will all happen later in the game, however. After the trainer is defeated, folow the path to the next ladder.
- This ladder leads to the next and that brings you right outside of Mt Moon. To find Cerulean City; just keep going right and take a few jumps down.
