I wouldn't call it golden armour, but what you're probably on about is a shiny Mewtwo. On FireRed & LeafGreen (the games you can capture Mewtwo on), unless you cheat, there is a one in eight thousand one hundred and ninety two chance (1/8192) that when you encounter Mewtwo, it will be a different colour (shiny) to what it normally is. The same applies to almost all Pokémon that you can capture.
Incidentally, this doesn't mean that 1 in every 8192 Pokémon you encounter will be shiny. You could battle 5,000,000 and not encounter one. Similarly, you could battle 5 and they could all be shiny (you'd have to be very lucky though).

Just a rumor that people heard. People put the Mewtwo with Cyber Armor in hacked Pokemon games though. If you can figure out which one you can find the ROM.
