Hold down the B button or X button then move the cursor to the water make sure your casting at least 5 meters away wait until your hook gets close to a fish then hold left or right on the control stick to make the fish notice the hook then it will snap on quickly hold down and the A button now you have the fish hooked keep holding down and the A button until you catch it watch your meter on your right don't let it hit the top or you will lose the fish and a life.
