You craft a piston with 3 wood on the top row, cobble stone-iron ingot-cobble stone in the middle row, then cobble stone-redstone-cobble stone on the bottom row. Lastly, you put a slime ball above the piston in the crafting table, and voilà! You have your sticky piston!

well it is very simple, Stand on The Block You want to place the piston on. Once that's done quickly jump and place the piston.

im guessing you ment piston, if so, put the piston in the ground, and under it, place a redstone torch.
flip the lever/switch again, it has both an on and off function *if you want the block to retract with the piston, you need a sticky piston
