Hold down "L" and "Start" as soon as you see the Game Boy Advance logo (or before you turn on the power.) Keep holding and a prompt to delete the data will appear. You then must choose which language you would like to use.

My chao garden in sonic adventure 2 battle won't load.?
The problem isn't the chao garden, but the game. You need to delete your sonic file and start all over again (ugh! I know!) But at least you get to keep your Chao data! :)P.S: Don't Delete your chao data when you go to delete your sonic data!P.P.S: If you don't know how to delete your data here's how. When you first turn on your Gamecube and the camecube logo comes up, hold down the "A" button.
