Roxanne, the gym leader of Rustboro, uses only rock Pokemon. This makes her very easy to defeat if you are smart with your types. Rock Pokemon are very easily damaged by water and grass moves. So, if you chose Mudkip or Treecko as your starter, you should have no problem. Mudkip learns the move "Water Gun" early on, which is a good choice against rock, and Treecko's best move at this stage would be "Absorb." If you chose Torchic as your starter, don't fret.
