How do you beat Mephiles in the desert with Shadow in Sonic the Hedgehog?

Kill the Giant Monsters until you can use Chaos Boost. Use it, Mephilles will appear. Use homing attack on him. Repeat until dead. Multiple chain homing attacks may have to be used if he summons clones in a chain.
