You'll most likely want to use something called Homebrew. Homebrew is a way to use a game system in a way Nintendo never really wanted you to. (dont worry its legal).
yes there is a way to fix it easy i discovered it ok to fix all the saves you need to add on the end of the NDS file .nds and for the save file .nds.nds and the saves will work
Looks like the save file is corrupt, there isn't really anything you can do to restore it, just wipe and restart.
piemel
your roms don't work because you either have the wrong kernel or your roms aren't the same fromat as the r4. make sure you put the .nds file in the GAMES folder then you can play them. you don't have to downloads stuff to extract the filles. just open up the .rar fille then drag the .nds file into the GAMES folder.
If speaking of a Nintendo DS, it is a ROM file. It's like insides of the game card packed into a file, bootable by the DS or an emulator.
You have a flash cart? You have to rename the save file to the name of your nds. file
your file name should be like this xxxxxxxxxx.??? change the ?s to NDS

Once you download the game you want to play, unzip it and look for the .nds file. The .nds file should be drag-and-dropped into the Micro-SD card put into your R4. Rhe3n you can play it.

Well, converting a BIN file to an NDS file is like painting a beautiful landscape - you just need the right tools and a gentle touch. You can use a program like DeSmuME to open the BIN file, then save it as an NDS file. Just remember to take your time, enjoy the process, and soon you'll have your NDS file ready to use. Happy converting, my friend!
desmume nds emulator....i hope it works becauz it works 4 me
Well, I don't know for sure but you can try to rename the file exstension from .nds to .gbaso the file will turn into a GBA file from a NDS file.:)
You just have to add a folder named "Games" on the root folder then download .nds files which are the ds games. You put the nds files in your "Games" folder. A very popular nds ROM site: romulation.net To play the game on your R4, you just have to navigate to the "Games" folder and click your nds file, also when playing your first time, it will ask you to create a SAV file (a file that saves your process, stores data, don't worry, it is only 512 kb). Have fun!
