You CAN get married, but it's pointless. It is a person you don't know in real life (in 99.999% of these) who is most likely a 45 year old man who wants to rape you.

P.S In the quest throne of miscellena you sorta get married to the prince/princess but they just agree no ceremony and they both die in a quest
